HARDENED EMBEDDED LINUX & QUALITY UI DESIGN

Red Rock Systems architects have over 40 combined years of experience working with embedded systems. We have contributed to products for big names you will have heard of to small businesses you wont have, and everything in between.

The founders of Red Rock Systems have contributed to over 30 United States Patents ranging from RAID Cache algorithms all the way to distributed software management techniques of network enabled devices.

We are comfortable with ARM, MIPs, PowerPC, and x86 architectures and have written fast efficient code in most every common programming language.

Red Rock Systems understands the reliability requirements of an embedded system

While an iPhone application may have a life span of a couple months, most embedded products (hardware & software) are expected to run flawlessly for years on end without "updates". Whether the base operating system is VxWorks or Linux, system reliability is our specialty.

Red Rock Systems still understands the actual hardware being used

Modern operating systems have done a fantastic job of abstracting the underlying hardware to the point where many engineers are not capable of understanding a system from top to bottom. The irony of this situation is that miniaturized ubiquitous computing based on cloud infrastructure is the future, yet resource constrained systems are a mystery to modern software developers. It is not a mystery to us. Bit-banging hardware registers, modifying master boot records, actually booting a microprocessor or microcontroller, servicing high-priority interrupts, or rearranging Flash memory layouts on the fly is all in a days work for us.

Red Rock Systems understands quality user-interface design

The creation of beautiful yet usable human-to-computer interfaces separates Red Rock Systems from the rest. We take pride in creating web-based user interfaces that ensure task success, provide adequate feedback, and feel natural to use. We take the time to study how users interact with the embedded system and use that information to direct application flow and layout. Our web browser based user interfaces take full advantage of asynchronous data patterns and feel "snappy" to use even on the most resource constrained system.
